Charles Koechlin's eclectic suite Quatre Petite PiÃ¨ces is a haunting and poignant quasi-impressionistic collection of four miniatures, that alternate, as in a kaleidoscope, contrasting atmospheric moods and degrees of sorrow and peaceful introspection.
