Taraf de Haidouks, originating from a small Romanian village, introduce US to a musical world which includes medieval ballads, Turkish-flavored dance tunes from the Balkans, and characteristic vocal inflections which remind US of the Gypsy people's origin in the Indian sub-continent. The Taraf de HaÃ¯douks are a bunch of extraordinary and colourful characters. Their warmth, their eccentricity and their sheer pleasure of playing have convinced audiences at the biggest European festivals.
