Some works originate from the \r\nperiod just prior to my studies and some from the \r\nperiod immediately after. \r\nThe four organ works (tracks 1, 2, 6 and 7) \r\nsummarise quite well my journey as a composer \r\nduring these years. They begin with the arrangement \r\nof the chorale O giv oss, Herre, av den tro, (O \r\ngive us Lord, the faith) composed in the summer \r\nof 2020. After that I explore O glad dig, Guds \r\nforsamling nu (O rejoice, the Church of God) with \r\nanother type of harmony built on chords by fourths. \r\nHere the melody of the chorale is treated more \r\nfreely than in the first chorale arrangement, using \r\nmore accidentals. The short Gregorian paraphrase \r\nTerribilis est builds on a kind of canon technique \r\nalternating with warmer, free-floating sonorous \r\nislands as a contrast to the canon parts. Polytonality, \r\ni.e. The simultaneous use in the music of several \r\nmelodious tonalities, has become a significant and \r\ncharacteristic ingredient in my music. In the piece \r\nentitled In nomine Jesu I explore this technique \r\nboth by overlapping chords and a more linear \r\nmelodic sequence.
