Detalles: En colaboración con el productor Charlie Bauerfeind (Helloween, Gamma Ray, Angra) en los estudios Twilight Hall de la banda en Grefrath-Oedt, Alemania, el séptimo álbum de estudio, A Night at the Opera, presentó una versión más agresiva de la voz emotiva de Hansi Kürsch, junto con sonidos de guitarra más limpios y graves. Si bien el carácter narrativo de la banda y las épicas y grandiosas actuaciones en estudio se mantuvieron intactos, la ausencia de letras con temática de Tolkien fue notable, pero esto no impidió el éxito que les aguardaba.
