DESCRIPCIÓN
Detalles: Colección de cuatro CD. Conocidos por su éxito de 1965, la inquietante obra maestra del garage pop «Take A Heart», la banda de Coventry The Sorrows grabó varios discos de 45 rpm igualmente vitales y el álbum «Take A Heart» antes de que el líder Don Fardon se marchara en 1966. Mientras Fardon emprendía una carrera en solitario, The Sorrows se reagruparon y se mudaron a Italia, donde lanzaron un par de sencillos de éxito menor y el álbum de psicorock «Old Songs, New Songs», antes de separarse a finales de la década. Si bien estas dos fases distintivas de la banda ya han sido antologadas individualmente, «Pink Purple Yellow And Red» representa la primera vez que se reúnen bajo un mismo techo y, como tal, se erige como el documento definitivo de la fascinante carrera de The Sorrows. Además de esos sencillos clave de mediados de los sesenta, el paquete incluye el álbum completo "Take A Heart" en mono y estéreo, el LP "Old Songs, New Songs" y una maqueta anterior, solo en acetato, que se descartó tras la marcha de dos miembros de la banda. El set también incluye sus colaboraciones con el maestro de bandas sonoras Ennio Morricone, la canción que da título a la película italiana de espías Ypotron, un magnífico sencillo solo en acetato de principios de 1968, sencillos derivados de The Eggy y Renegade, un concierto en directo de 1980 de la banda reformada y, en un emocionante hallazgo de archivo, cuatro grabaciones inéditas de 1964 con el legendario productor Joe Meek. Presentado en una caja de concha e incluyendo un lujoso libreto con numerosas fotos inéditas y un ensayo detallado sobre las actividades de la banda, el set Pink Purple Yellow And Red es una adquisición imprescindible para cualquiera con un interés más que superficial por el pop británico de los sesenta.
