DESCRIPCIÓN

Detalles: Durante su vida, Johann Pachelbel (1653-1706) fue reconocido como compositor de órgano. Compuso más de doscientas piezas para este instrumento, tanto litúrgicas como profanas, y exploró la mayoría de los géneros musicales existentes en la época. Se le considera la cumbre de la escuela organística del sur de Alemania del siglo XVII y, en general, uno de los compositores más importantes del Barroco medio. Su ámbito de actividad abarcó el centro y el sur de Alemania (las actuales Baviera, Turingia y Stuttgart), así como una importante etapa de formación en Viena, a sus veintipocos años, durante la cual absorbió las influencias dominantes italianas y del sur de Alemania del Imperio de los Habsburgo. El énfasis de los organeros del sur en las divisiones manuales también es evidente en gran parte de la música para órgano litúrgico de Pachelbel, relativamente sencilla y escrita exclusivamente para manuales. Con este conjunto de 13 discos que abarca las contribuciones fundamentales de Pachelbel al preludio coral, la fuga y las formas de variación, el organista internacionalmente aclamado Simone Stella agrega otro hito a su ya prolífica discografía de estudios de música barroca para teclado en Brilliant Classics.
