Detalles: Akira Ifukube nació el 31 de mayo de 1914 en Kushiro, Japón. Escritor prolífico, llegó a crear casi 400 partituras. Antes de que Godzilla lo catapultara a la fama mundial en 1954, ya había completado más de 80 películas, dieciocho solo en 1952. También reconocido por crear el icónico rugido de Godzilla, el trabajo de Ifukube en esta película ha resistido la prueba del tiempo, sus temas se interpolaron 65 años después en la partitura de Bear McCreary para Godzilla: King of the Monsters. Durante un período de veinte años (1954-75), Ifukube se convirtió en el compositor de referencia para las películas de fantasía de primera categoría de Toho Studio, en particular las dirigidas por Ishiro Honda. Frecuentemente solicitado también por otros estudios, Ifukube aún podía encontrar tiempo para disfrutar de su pasión por crear composiciones clásicas. Supuestamente descontento con la adaptación de su música en esta última película, Ifukube aceptó regresar y componer la banda sonora de todas las películas posteriores excepto una (Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla / Gojira vs. Supesugojira, 1994). Cuarenta y un años después de asistir al nacimiento de la bestia, envió a Godzilla a su muerte con gran estilo en Godzilla vs. Destroyah (Gojira vs. Desutoroia) de 1995.
