In July 1965, at the height of his career, Jacques Brel recorded a jam session at the Maison de la Radio, during which he gave us a deeply moving version of Amsterdam, accompanied only by Gérard Jouannest on piano and Pierre Sim on double bass. The B-side features a live recital recorded for the show "Discoparade" at the Alhambra in 1962, where the artist-now far from his intimate beginnings-is accompanied by a piano and a string ensemble.
