    伝説のアーティストの Sire Records デビューの 3CD/DVD/2LP デラックス版には、新たにリマスターされたサウンド、未発表のスタジオおよびライブ トラック、さらに「The New York Album」コンサート ビデオの DVD 初収録が収録されています。

    3CD/DVD/2LP セットは、音楽ジャーナリストの David Fricke による新しいライナーノーツ、アーキビストの Don Fleming によるエッセイを含む 12 x 12 のハードカバー本にパッケージ化されており、リリースのために Laurie Anderson、Don Fleming、Bill Ingot、Jason Stern、および Hal Willner によって制作されました。

    『ニューヨーク』はリードの類まれな才能を捉えており、「Busload Of Faith」「Halloween Parade」「Dirty Blvd」といった素晴らしい曲が満載です。このコレクションのために、アルバム全体が初めてリマスターされました。ディスク2には、ルー・リード・アーカイヴから、アルバム全曲の未発表ライブバージョンを複数の公演から選曲して収録しています。重複を避けるため、これらのライブトラックはセットに付属するDVDからは抜粋されていません。

    3枚目のディスクには、「ラスト・グレート・アメリカン・ホエール」「シック・オブ・ユー」「ダーティ・ブールバード」など、ルー・リード・アーカイブに収録されたアルバム収録曲の未発表初期バージョンが収録されています。さらに、アルバム未収録曲「ザ・ルーム」や、ヴェルヴェット・アンダーグラウンド時代に録音された「スウィート・ジェーン」のライブバージョン、そして2枚目のソロアルバム『トランスフォーマー』（1972年）収録の「ウォーク・オン・ザ・ワイルド・サイド」も収録されています。

    このセットには、1990年にVHSとレーザーディスクで発売されたコンサートビデオ「The New York Album」も収録されています。これまでDVD化はされていませんでしたが、今回初めてDVD化されました。モントリオールのサン・ドニ劇場で行われたライブで、リードがアルバム「The New York」全曲を演奏しています。DVDの最後には、リードへの音声のみのインタビューが収録されています。
