CD debut of two of the ?nest roots albums of the late 70s. Includes many tracks new to CD. Features many of the biggest reggae hits of the roots era. By the la?er half of the 70s, when roots, DJ and dub dominated the Jamaican music landscape, few producers could equal the creaDve success of Joe Gibbs. Assisted by the giIed sound engineer Errol Thompson, Gibbs issued many of the most popular and in?uenDal recordings of the period, performed by some of the island's most celebrated arDsts. During this Dme, he released two similarly branded vinyl collecDons, each comprising ten of the ?nest roots and DJ sounds from the period: 'United Dreadlocks', Volumes 1 and 2. These hugely popular long-players provide the focus of this two CD collecDon, with their respecDve track lisDngs bolstered by the cream of the producer's output from 1976 to 1977. Featuring numerous tracks new to CD, the compilaDon superbly demonstrates why Gibbs is sDll so highly regarded among fans of the reggae roots reggae sound.
