Tea For The Tillerman es posiblemente el álbum más conocido y preciado de Cat Stevens. Lanzado originalmente en noviembre de 1970, Universal Music celebrará su 50.º aniversario por todo lo alto el 20 de noviembre de 2020 con un lanzamiento multiformato, que incluye una reedición especial en formato Super Deluxe (5 CD/BD/1 LP/12" Live EP) de uno de los álbumes más clásicos de la música.
El set Super Deluxe incluye una remasterización del disco de 2020 completamente nueva, así como una mezcla de 2020 completamente nueva (supervisada por el productor e ingeniero de sonido de Yusuf Islam, David Hefti), con audio mezclado a partir de la cinta maestra multipista original de Island Records de 1970. La mezcla de 2020 también aparece en el 1LP, 100 % exclusivo de esta caja.
El CD3 incluye las nuevas interpretaciones de Yusuf de estas maravillosas canciones, Tea For The Tillerman², que se lanzará en formato independiente el 18 de septiembre de 2020. Yusuf ha decidido incluirlo aquí para presentar la edición más completa del álbum original y mostrar cómo han evolucionado estas canciones a lo largo de sus 50 años de vida.
El CD4 incluye demos, tomas descartadas y versiones alternativas, incluyendo dos temas completamente inéditos ("Can This Be Love?" y "It's So Good"), mientras que el CD5 incluye 25 presentaciones en vivo que incluyen 5 temas inéditos grabados en vivo en The Troubadour, 4 presentaciones en vivo inéditas del espectáculo del 8 de diciembre de 1970 en Fillmore East y 6 presentaciones en vivo inéditas de presentaciones en televisión británica, francesa y alemana en 1970/71.
La actuación en directo de The Troubadour también está incluida íntegramente en el EP en directo de 12” (exclusivo de esta caja).
El box set Super Deluxe se completa con un BluRay con audio HD de 24 bits/96 khz del 2020 Mix, así como 8 presentaciones televisivas en vivo inéditas, 7 pistas interpretadas en vivo en los estudios KCNET, Los Ángeles, y el video oficial de "Father And Son".
