    詳細： 1963年、45歳という若さで心臓発作に倒れ、キャリアを断たれたエルモア・ジェイムスは、ブルースギターの発展に極めて大きな影響を与えた人物です。改造されたホローボディギターとカスタムピックアップを独自に組み合わせることで、意識的に磨き上げた独特のサウンドと、ロバート・ジョンソンの「ダスト・マイ・ブルーム」のカバーによるヒット曲によって、ブルース界で最も広く演奏され、録音された曲の一つとなりました。この52曲入り2枚組CDコレクションには、1951年に前述の名曲で小さなトランペット・レーベルからデビューしてから、死の数か月前まで、メテオ、フレアー、モダン、チーフ、ファイア、チェスといったレーベルでレコーディングしたすべてのシングルのA面とB面が収録されています。エルモア・ジェイムスの作品数は比較的少ないものの、ジミ・ヘンドリックス、ブライアン・ジョーンズ、エリック・クラプトン、スティーヴィー・レイ・ヴォーン、ジョージ・ソログッドなど、多くの著名なギタリストがエルモア・ジェイムスの影響を強く受け、長年にわたり彼の作品を演奏してきました。このコレクションは、彼の作品への理想的な入門書です。
