In 1958 Folkways Records hired Ronnie and Stu Lipner, two international folk dance instructors and consultants, to "edit, compile, and/or procure... a series of recordings based on Dances of Many Peoples." One of the results is this collection of field recordings of various tribal dances from the Great Plains and American Southwest.
