Sabine Meyer's recording of Mozart's Clarinet Concerto in A major, also with the Berlin Philharmonic and Abbado, is a significant interpretation of this masterpiece. Recorded in 1998, Meyer performs the concerto on the basset clarinet, the instrument for which Mozart originally conceived the work, allowing for a deeper and richer tonal palette in the lower register. Meyer's rendition of the sublime Adagio is often highlighted for it's exquisite delicacy and deeply felt lyricism.
