Details: Recorded in New York from 1934-1935, the instrumentation on this CD features trumpet, two reeds, piano, banjo and/or guitar, washboard and at least one vocalist. Two sessions are included: one is an assortment of so-called "warhorses," tunes that would have been well-known to the musicians and presumable easy to "knock-off" for a group put together strictly for the session. The second session consists of renditions of contemporary pop tunes.
