The album featured production by Buckshot (of Black Moon), Lord Jamar, Da Beatminerz and others. It peaked at number 5 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums and number 35 on the Billboard Top 200 that year. The 18 tracks skilfully incorporated samples from artists such as Johnny Pate, Lalo Schifrin, and George Benson.
