Details: As New Orleans music historian Jeff Hannusch notes in his inside essay, Rhythm & Blues Man Johnny Adams was one of the greatest vocalists to ever come out of New Orleans. Expressive, life-worn and occasionally pierced by his otherworldly falsetto, Johnny recorded some of his greatest performances during his years with Shelby Singleton's SSS International records. Collected here is every original recording issued on the SSS and Pacemaker labels from 1966-1973, including the unforgettable hit singles "Reconsider Me" and "Release Me", plus several titles new to CD.
