Details: Two time Grammy Award winner Kim Carnes began her career in the late 1960's primarily as a songwriter and signed her first publishing deal in 1969 with famed producer Jimmy Bowen. Carnes penned several successful songs, most notably for Barbara Streisand. As time went on, Carnes became known for her distinctive raspy singing style and finally had a Top 40 hit of her own with "You're a Part of Me" in 1978. Today she is most well known for her 1981 breakthrough hit, "Bette Davis Eyes," which showcased her unique singing style. Presented here are her very first recording sessions as a solo artist, recorded in 1971, showcasing a singer of remarkable ability, a full ten years before her breakthrough hit and subsequent worldwide fame. All selections newly remastered.
