Details: In 2018, bassist David Nesselhauf fulfilled his dream of playing in a highly flexible and funky trio by calling upon the players that impressed him gigging around town in Hamburg, Germany. The Drawbars were formed with keyboardist Chris Haertel playing a number of vintage organs, pianos, and wurlitzers, while drummer Julian Gutjahr provided a backbone with a steady beat. During the first session, a good amount of original tunes were layouted, soon to be followed by the band's first gigs and releases. Further defining "off jazz" for the audience and the trio, their debut album, 'One Finger Only,' encompasses stylistic unity and diversity at the same time. Fusing elements of soul-jazz, funk, and psychedelic music with the attitude of a rocking, jazz-loving organ trio.
